For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
— Psalm 100:5
Pastor John Writes:
Our Anniversary Lovefeast will be Sunday, May 3, at 11:00 am, followed by a picnic luncheon and slideshow presentation in the fellowship hall. The Archives Committee will present the time capsule box to the congregation during the Anniversary Lovefeast for a special blessing.
As we gather with grateful hearts, we celebrate 251 years of worship, witness, and community. For over two and a half centuries, Friedland has stood as a testimony to the enduring goodness of God — a place where generations have come to seek, to serve, and to be shaped by God’s unfailing love.
Psalm 100:5 reminds us that while times change, God remains steadfast. His goodness has been the firm foundation beneath every step of this church’s journey. From its earliest days, when faithful believers first gathered with hope and vision, to the congregation we are today, God’s hand has guided, sustained, and blessed this community.
As we reflect on 251 years, we do more than look back — we also look forward. The same God who was present at the beginning continues to lead us into the future. His faithfulness is not only a part of our history; it is our promise for the days ahead. We are called to carry this legacy forward, to be a light in our community, and to continue sharing his love with future generations.
For all of us, this is an invitation to remember, to rejoice, and to recommit ourselves to the mission God has entrusted to us. May we move forward with this encouragement, knowing that the Lord is good, his love endures forever, and his faithfulness will continue — through us — for generations to come.
In Christ,
The Rev. John G. Rights
