Pastor John Writes:

Every year, Holy Week invites us to walk alongside Jesus Christ in his final days on earth, from his triumphal entry into Jerusalem to his death on the cross and glorious resurrection.  This week is a time for us to pause and contemplate the life and immense love of our Savior.  It is a time to remember the events that forever changed the course of history and  transformed our faith and our world.  Each day of Holy Week holds its  own significance, inviting us to draw closer to God and deepen our faith.

Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and every day leading up to Easter brings us a reason to pause and reflect.  We remember Jesus’ final meal with his disciples and we are reminded of his humble act of washing the disciples’ feet, teaching us the importance of servant leadership and selfless love.  We mourn our Savior’s death, yet we also find hope in the promise of redemption and salvation that his resurrection brings.

As we journey through Holy Week together, March 24-31, let us open our hearts to God’s presence.  Let us take time for prayer and reflection, as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus and seek to live out his teachings in our  daily lives.  May Holy Week be a time of spiritual renewal and deepening faith for each one of us.

May you experience a blessed Holy Week filled with the peace and the presence of Christ.

In Christ,

The Rev. John G. Rights
